building about three years ago
and it has been a wonderful investment.
I heat it to 50 degrees, the kids are kept dry and warm and with the addition of the milk machines, it has cut my labor to almost nothing and my bedding costs considerably. They stay in there until 3-6 weeks old, depending if i need more room. I can usually fit around 175 kids in it. The other side has a milk machine as well. I run 500-600 dairy buck kids a year and I would not go back to raising them in a barn with heat lamps. I work full time off the farm so some degree of convienance for me is a must. How would you rate it? 100% Please add any other comments concerning our equipment, service, quality,company or anything related to animal raising: You must wash the feeder once a day watch milk replacer and your water temperature and level fo concentration of milk. Calves adapt to it in 1 or 2 days. We just keep it clean + filled and the calves do the rest. We have our feeder next to the dry calf feed box + calves start eating by week two + just keep growing Do you raise calves Yes Lamb___ Kids___ ? How many? Have had 19 at one time on the feeder. Do you think the animals are doing better on the feeder than other methods you have used? Yes-definately. They gain weight faster with no Scour. They also have less tendancy to suck on each other Describe your experience with our service after sale? How would you rate it? Very good. All our question have been answered when we had problems- Parts were sent quickly when needed. I have no complaints. In fact, scours are just a thing of the past Most people compliment us on how good our claves look. I wish we had know about the "biotic" feeder 10 years ago.
